What is Tinea?

Ringworm, also known as the Tinea, is a contagious fungal infection (except Tinea versicolor) skin. The name comes from the characteristic red ring that can appear on the skin of an infected person. There are several
varieties of ringworm that can affect various parts of the body.
Ringworm is very common, especially among children and can spread through contact skin to skin, as well as through contact with contaminated objects, such as brushes.

These are common forms of ringworm that we know from other names.Athlete's foot is a type of ringworm in feet, more often between the toes, and Tinea Inguinalis affects in the groin area.
Ringworm spreads easily, as infected persons are contagious even before they show symptoms of the enfermedad.Hay many simple precautions you can take to reduce the risk of developing ringworm, although it is widespread.
