The Ringworm Itch

A ringworm infection is not painful but it brings on a maddening itch that can drive a person crazy.  Continued scratching can cause more damage than the fungus.  Scratching a ringworm infection is the most likely way the condition is spread to other parts of the body.  A mere touch of an infected area can spread the fungus to any
other part of the body by touch.  The itch is a daunting challenge especially for children.  The itchy symptoms will continue through the treatment period reaching its peak between the third and fifth day of the rash and then it will begin to subside.  The best way to prevent the spread of the condition is to keep the effected area covered during treatment.
