Ringworm Misnomer

Imagine that, the skin condition referred to as ringworm is not caused by a worm or any kind of creepy crawly insect. It is actually a fungus infection that can affect both animals and people. The malady got the name ringworm because it manifests itself in red rings that looks like a worms underneath the skin.
